I'm restoring a Wilton bullet vise 1010133 which has the key stamped as 171.

Questions;
- what is the original color
- what is the date of the vise?

Thank you,

Craig

Thanks. I'm surprised. I thought the vise was much older.

Is there any paint color that is best suited for the Wilton? Once completed I'm going to sell it on Ebay and don't want to detract from the appearance.

I'm inclined toward using Rustoleum "Hammered" gray paint. Any opinion?

The traditional hammered color is Verde Green, but good luck finding it. If you can get it to bare metal, a simple oil finish is good because there are no hidden flaws and it sells better.
