Guys— I have a 1993 Snap-On 1750 Wilton vise that has a bent handle/ bar. Can anyone with a standard Wilton 1750 mic the diameter of your bar and respond accordingly?

The issue I’m having is Wilton and others companies are out of the OEM spindle assembly. We did find a 1755xc Tommy bar handle that looked liked it might work but was smaller (.55”/ 14mm) in diameter then my existing bar (5/8”, .625” or 15.8mm).

So with that said, I’m now wondering if the Snap On 1750 version vise maybe had a bigger diameter handle then the standard 1750. Any help is appreciated.

If you can't find an OEM replacement, you can always make your own handle with parts from McMaster.

A 12in length of 17-4 stainless in the diameter of the original, 2 stainless shaft collars and a couple large o-rings. It should end up being quite a bit cheaper too.

Any idea on yield strength:
H1150 =105,000 psi available)
H900=170,000 psi (out of stock)

Since the h1150 is only available is that comparable to OEM?

Here's another member's (KMScott) post on vise handles. He likes 1144 which has a very comparable yield strength. The heating/machining properties won't matter if you're using collars.

Per my research, the h900 would be stronger, but wasn't available when I ordered. I went with the unrated version on McMaster. It's has been great so far and I have had no issues. If it ever bends (and I doubt that it will without using a cheater), I will replace it with H900.
