Wilton 3 in bullet vise help

Hello all, I have a Wilton bullet vise with 3 in jaws that I am restoring, this is my first vise for a restore, my question is the bottom rail / guide is loose and can be remove by hand with a little tug, has anyone fix or repaired this part of the vise and how you go abouts to repair it. I posted pictures to view. thanks for the help.. mike

I just cleaned that same vise up and repainted it today. And the rail was not loose. I think it had roll pins holding it in. I wouldnt sware on that though cause it was tight and i just wire wheeled everthing, cleaned, lubed and painted it than put it back together. I can double check tomorrow if know one else chime In. But what a sweet smooth vise

Mine comes out as well. Not real loose but comes out with just fingers or pliers. But it is tight when everything is back together. Important that the side to side is snug or the jaws will not line up nicely.

Looks like someone tried to "glue" it in at one point.

You could replace the pins with something a few thousandths wider, but I agree with some of the prior posters. It will hold itself in once it's all reassembled.
