Hello there,
I know Wilton is a go-to name for vises, but know next to nothing about them when it comes to powertools.

My wife's uncle has a Wilton 3002 horizontal bandsaw for sale for $300 and I'm tempted to buy it (along with a frankenstein of an air compressor) and was curious what the experts think?

Meh Name or no that is the same as the Buffalo Saw from years ago, the HF, the Northern, Grizzly, Enco, etc etc etc... Chinese saw... but I have a HF version and I built a better stand for it, works great...

:headscrat it is an import.

Sorry, what I meant to say was hold off for a no name brand import, or a harbor freight. In my experience owning a couple that size, they are all made very similar and usually have interchangable parts. For example, I repaired my Wilton (same one the OP posted) with parts from a broken Off brand saw.

The Motor certainly is not the original but may be a decent motor, looks from the mount style that it was made for a fan, not a saw... Either way it is a decent motor. the rest is the same saw as all the other Chinese saws just Old... So think about bearings and axles and guides etc... not that NEW ones will be superior in any way but there ya go.

Thanks KKroger - much appreciated!
