Hey fellows I acquired what I believe to be an older vintage Wilton vise , I’m curious to know when it may have been manufactured. Before anyone asks “ there is no date stamp anywhere on the vise ,including the insert guide ? “ I read an earlier post where some gentalmen with the same type style vise had the same inquisition. I’ll try to post a pic . Does anyone know when the CO model was introduced ? Thanks , Ray

Unscrew the dynamic jaw and pull it out. The date stamp will be on the bottom of the slide key. If I had to guess, I'd say you have a vise made between around 1970 and 1999

Mr Ex , nothing there ( blank slide key ) so is it correct to assume the CO model was introduced in 1970 ?

Pretty sure the C0 was made while Wilton was still in Chicago, yours was made after the move to Schiller Park, so obviously not a real early one.

Schiller Park means late 50's, and the plain swivel locks (non hex) tend to mean mid 60's. I would maintain around 1970...

Edit: Just noticed your later version anvil, so probably more like late 70's up to 1998 or so

That’s a 1/72 C1 clamped in the jaws of my C2. Your C0 is newer than 1972.
