This is my 350 wilton. I want to thank G-ManBart for his help with everything.

This vise was used hard (some may say abused ) all its life. It will have it pretty easy going forward.

Abused? It looks great to me. That "before" vise would enter my shop and be pronounced "Like new". It would get a waxing and then be put to work. You did a great job on the rehab. Now it deserves a "Mint" tag.

The OP may have been referring to the bent handles, but I agree it was an excellent vise to begin with.

Thanks guys. This forum was a big help on it.

Ok maybe it wasn't abused, but every handle was bent really bad. And still are a little bit. Doesn't bother me one bit.

I'm just happy I was finally able to finish it.

Nice!

If you want to straighten the handle it's not too hard to do if you have access to a shop press. Just put the low sides on a piece of metal or hard wood, put the high part under the ram and lower it until it's straight...sometimes takes a few tries.

CASE: didn't look too bad before, but looks a lot better now. welcome to the forum and looks like you need another bolt in the base and you are good to go for about 50 years with a little maintenance.

might i suggest that if you cut or file or saw anything in your Wilton to maybe throw down a clean or even a little oily rag on the slide to keep the debris and junk from going on the slide and eventually inside your vise so you won't have to clean it as often.

shaking a rag off or throwing it away (even paper towels work too) is a lot easier than having to clean and grease your vise more often and a lot easier on your vise.

The handle is pretty close now. And yes I need another bolt. I also have to remount it because I didn't notice the different mounting pattern the base has until I took it apart. And it will bother me of I dont.
