Wilton 350 vise question

I was given most of the parts to a nice little Wilton 350. One of the parts I had to get from Wilton was the end casting.

The casting fit the end of the vise perfectly with a slight press fit. But as you can see it's just not your normal looking end profile.

I've sent the pic to the vise guru at Wilton but thought I'd ask if anyone had ever seen this issue. It could be that this is all they have these days as a replacement.

Do you have a side view? It's hard to tell how the fit is from that pic. Do the side pins line up?

I'll get a side view and post it. The other part I had to get was the threaded tube which is not drilled, nor is the end casting so I'll have to get everything lined up and drill through the main casting holes into them to accept the pins. There is an indexing groove on the end casting for alignment and the tube is indexed inside it.

As long as there is a lip to take the pull force it will work. It is a different design than the original. Looks like the cap goes all the way over the new end and would sit flush. Crank the **** out of the handle to make sure it good and tight before drilling the holes or they will take some of the force. There should be holes in the inside threaded holder unless it is new too. Try to line them up if you can. The angle of the back and how ridgely it's mounted have an effect on the play in the vise when it is open. Mine was parallel to ground level.

Yep the threaded tube is new and has to be drilled with the end casting. I got my answer on this from wilton this morning telling me the newer 350 has that style end casting so I looked at some new ones online and confirmed the lip around the end is there.

I'll go with this one and maybe I can find another 350 for parts down the road and get a proper end casting to make it correct for it's age.
