This is a replacement handle for a Wilton 400S, 450S or C1 that uses a 11/16" diameter handle (possibly earlier C2s as well). I measured four or five different handles and spindle holes on these model vises and they were all around .685 or a touch under in diameter and around 10.25" long overall. I have one vise (intact) and one spindle (parts) that a .685" diameter handle barely fits through, and actually drags. Because of that I made this handle .675 and that gives enough clearance for it to move smoothly without being sloppy. The handle is made of 1144 Stress Proof steel I bought to make handles for a couple of vises I'm fixing....had lots left over. The ball ends are mystery steel I had on hand. The factory handle in the picture came off a modern 400S for comparison (not included). You will need an oxy-acetylene torch to heat and peen the end in place....don't think propane or MAP will get it hot enough.
I found some 1/4" thick washers so I'm adding those to the package.
If someone needs a handle but doesn't have a torch setup I can make them with a threaded end as well...couple of drops of permanent thread locker and you're set. They take longer to make, so they cost a bit more. I've got lots of 1144 steel left and I can do other diameters and lengths as well.
$75 shipped to the lower-48. I'd have to check on shipping anywhere else.
