Started my sales season today and a fellow at the flea mkt had a small Wilton USA vise (same as in this photo on the right)

Wasn't too beat though jaws were a bit worn, still had original paint and label, handle was straight. $20 :dunno:

What else can you all tell me about it.

I'm suspicious - exposed screw - but not a Wilton expert.

Take a look through "The Vises of Garage Journal" thread in this forum for lots of info and pix. Get a cup of hot beverage and prepare to settle in for an hour or two.

Yes, as Justin says below, it's $20 worth of vise regardless.

Was just about to suggest the same thread as the guy above me... But from my experience $20 isn't bad at all for that.

Well I found a few more photos online of that Wilton vise so I'll bump this back up, seeing that weekend responses are always limited and most posting on the board seems to go on during the workday/workweek

I haven't had time to pull it apart and clean the oils and grunge off it in my parts washer but what I'm really trying to discern beforehand if maybe someone took it apart and possibly reversed the order of the washer and clip for the screw but I can't really tell even from the online pictures. Nothing is bent like screw or bar nor are the jaws worn uneven, but when you close it up tight all the way jaws don't line up exactly square with each other and the dynamic ***** off slighty to one side. Obviously there is a little side to side play in these types of lightweight bench vises but I'm thinking the washer should be first closest to the jaw body with then the clip locating it. Its actually the other way the clip is in the grove and the washer after that kind of wedged on the screw taper.
