I needed another winter project and I've always wanted a Wilton Vise. This model 645 was on eBay and it looked like a neat project.

Had a chance to unbox it today and it doesn't appear to have any cracks or previous welds. The paint is thick any many layers but nothing an hour in the sand blaster can't fix. The jaw inserts are worn and the screw heads were really deformed requiring a left had drill bit and extractor to remove.

I'll add pictures as I make progress. If anybody has suggestions for a good place to buy jaw inserts feel free to chime in.

I had a chance to make some progress on the vise. Disassembled it completely and sand blasted it. Primed and painted it as well. I'm pretty happy with it

I was not able to find new jaws. Seems like Wilton originally had wider bolt spacing around 3" bolt center to center and everything I can find online is 2-3/8". I replaced the bolts in the jaws and I will use it as is. Other than the jaws everything is in pretty nice shape.
