I purchased a good used Wilton 800S early this summer after a long search for a large Vise. The Vise is in excellent mechanical condition but the paint was in poor condition. I talked with Wilton about obtaining some original paint but they were not cooperative. So I searched and found a very close substitute that should look very good. It is Krylon Hammered Blue. I could not find it locally so I used Amazon to obtain the paint.
I have been rather busy so I delayed the start of the refurb until this evening.
The Wilton Vise disassembled very easily. The only problem is the Vise is so heavy you have to be a little careful and I will probably need an extra hand when I re-assemble this monster.
I will post a before picture and continue to add more pictures as I progress. I can only hope to do as well as those fellas in Tucson, who do incredible restorations (Gateway something?). So without further verbage.
