Wilton BASH Sledge Hammer

Anyone own one of these hammers?

Curious if they are worth the money or not?

I am curious to... I have held one and it seemed pretty nice. But that price tag seems kind high..

We have two of the JET unbreakable hammers at work(same concept) and they are VERY nice to use. 6months of heavy oil rig abuse by ~ 15 guys some of which may or may not be able to properly swing a hammer and they are still like new minus the paint on the head. I've probably made up 10 8-12lb wooden handle sledgehammers since we have got them to give you an idea of how many we can break in a short period of time yet those two still hold strong

Man, an unbreakable handle sledge sounds nice... I can't count the number of BFHs I've killed driving 5/8" rebar property markers...

I have the older one and I can personally say that I love it. It is very comfortable and I have never found a situation where I was worried about it breaking. I even find myself using it for situations where a ball peen would suffice. There are several brands that make a similar if not identical product such as Jet, Carlyle, Matco, etc. I can't verify prices on all of them but they are definitely worth the money.

I have one. A 4lbs one anyway. I like it. Cant tell you how strong it is. I dont miss much. I have hit it hard and thats about it. Comfy. Low vibration.

My hand sledge, cross peen and ball peen were all Hecho en Mayheeco. I'll take that over China at least... I got mine from Amazon, so I can't ***** about the price.

I've got an unbreakable and even though I'm just a residential DIYer, I really like it. I've put it through its paces and I can say that if I had to use one daily, this would be my go-to.

Don't forget about Vaughan. They have reworked their fiberglass handles to be similar to the Wilton. 8 lb x 36" should retail for around $40. Vaughan's heads are made in India, but the handles are made in the USA.

You're gonna be hard pressed to find a sledge made 100% here in the US. *****!

I have a 4lb and a 10lb I absolutely love them very good quality

I have the 8lb with 36 inch handle and love it. I've used it to break up concrete and it was a joy to use. I see it as.o e of those tools that are pricey, but will last forever.

Just be careful that the have models with a soft steel head, for aligning parts etc. You want the hardened head for normal sledge hammer use.
