Ive been looking for a cheap bench grinder for some average home use, and came across this Wilton 17203 6 inch 1/2 hp. It looks like it had some light use and it is one of the quietest grinders I have ever used. Then again I have owned some really crappy bench grinders in my day.
Question is, should I bother trying to find the other shield? I wanted to have 2 stones. I only paid $15.00 for it and from the research I have done it might have only been a $100.00 Jet re-badged model.
I cant seem to find parts for it on the wilton site.
Should I keep it as a buffing/ finishing and grab up another cheap heavy duty grinder to put 2 stones on it? Has anyone found a cheap parts supplier? Any information would be appreciated! Thanks

I guess it all depends on what you use your bench grinder for. If you do a lot of sharpening and use a coarse then a finer sharpening wheel, then getting the other shield/guide would be a good idea so you dont have to switch wheels all the time but if you do a lot of buffing/wire wheeling, then you likely will get more use out of it the way it is.

Nice grinder though!
