Wilton C-0 Question

I am in the process of cleaning up an older C-O that is missing the old style two pin pipe jaws. With these being discontinued, I am thinking about making some adapters that would use a modern pipe jaw. My question is what part of the vise on the two pin type carried the load. The pins? The raised bosses in the corners of the recess for each pipe jaw? The flat area inside the raised bosses?
Thanks.

Hi, the pipe jaws should rest into the vise so that when the vise is holding a pipe, the pressure is not on the pins but on the bottom area of the vise. There is only about 1/16" play on each side. if you rested the jaw inside the vise, the dowel holes should align up. If I had a C-0 I would send you an outline of those jaws, unfortunately the one shown, I passed on.

Thanks for the information. Other than the missing pipe jaws, everything else on the vise is still seviceable. Its a cute little thing, may end up on my desk at work!
