Wilton C1 Bullet Vise Repair

I recently stumbled upon a Wilton C1 Vise that was in desperate need of some TLC. Can't quite figure out how the previous owner broke it, but the end assembly was broken out around the holes for the pins. With this part no-where to be found, anyone have experience in repairing it? JB Weld usually doesn't work. I'm thinking about finding a 1/4 bronze rod to keep the hole shape and welding in the broken areas. Easier said then done though. Anyone have experience in making this sort of repair?

I think most on here rotate that piece 90 degrees, install it, and drill new holes. I'd post it over on the vise repair thread. If you need more info. Good luck, it should be a pretty simple fix.
