here in Ohio, most people put high prices on their bullets. Id pay $200 for that one you have posted if you planned on keeping it for personal use and not try to flip it. The base you could prolly find for $30-70 somewhere. I think c1s are the perfect size shop vise. Not too big or too small.

Probably worth that, and I need a C1 to complete my Wilton C collection, but I'd have a hard time paying that without the base.

Agreed. I think it's worth the cash, or maybe haggle a little if you planned on keeping and using it.

KAZ: i think the C1 is about the best vise Wilton makes for a homeowner and the C2 is the best for homeowner and commercial. it looks like it's been spiffed up so ask questions to see if any JB weld, welding or repairs were done and if not the price is very fair.

good luck

I'd pay $200 for it if it was local...that's a bit on the high side, but it's not all beat up, which many are.

The only thing is, now that you've posted it here, you better act fast. There are people who monitor this site and threads looking for stuff like this that's a good deal they can flip.

That looks like a 40's model with the double pins holding the pipe jaws, and the bases are harder to find. I have the same one on a shelf because it sits too tall to comfortably use on a modern bench height. I think it might actually be a better user vise without the swivel base.

I think there's someone on Ebay listing the swivel base that has the two claw feet for the swivel locks, rather than the circular ring style. That's the style the older models use, right?

It was posted 18 days ago, so they may be willing to come down in price. I would definitely pay $200 though, looks to be in real good condition.

I already have a Tradesman on the bench but decided I couldn't pass this up. It is in pretty good condition but will need to be tore down, cleaned and greased. I'm most impressed with the way it locks up. The handle is straight down when the vise is fully tightened with no play after all these years.

Motron: you'll need to post up some before and after pictures of your C1 now that you own it because the CL link you provided doesn't work any longer. i do like that model of the C1 the best of all the C1's. like i said i think you'll like it better than your tradesman and maybe the only Wilton better is the C2 if you need a 100 pounder. of course you'll have to get a Baby Bullet to fill in the small needs for your shop/garage now too.

cheers and congrats.

Finished up the restore today. I didn't take a before but you can see the original state in the electrolysis tank. I decided to not shine up anything to leave the original patina.

Thanks for all the info everyone, still looking for a base if anyone knows of one.
