I picked up a Wilton C1 Vice off Facebook Marketplace, $80.00. It does not have the swivel base but otherwise it's in great shape. I took it all apart to do a cleaning and lubrication. The jaws look new as does the little anvil section. I didn't need another vise but it was a good price so I jumped on itWilton.jpgWilton1.jpgWilton2.jpg

I think that vise looks more than 4 years old, so I would say that 41st week of 2008 seems about right.

I picked up an identical one a few weeks ago but for the life of me, I'm not seeing how to remove the pipe clamp jaws from the body. What was your technique?

Mine is also missing the base... common weak point for breakage?

I second the motion for a You ****! $80 is a steal. I’d say it is 4 years old.

You can get those pipe jaws out by simply pulling them straight out. They are held in place with metal spring clamps. Grab them with Channelock pliers or something similar and yank.

My daily driver working vise is a C1. I have more than a few vises to choose from for regular use and I chose the C1.

Ive noticed there are some semi universal parts. But I think I've found a base on ebay to complete a beauty. I think I have the bug
From what I read is that the Wilton 4" and 4 1/2" vises all use the same base. The only difference is the bolt length for the locking nut.
