Wilton DP vise with Rapid Nut (SOLVED)

Hi Folk,
I purchased a Wilton 4-1/2" drill press vise with the Rapid Nut feature off Ebay in very good shape. But I can't get the rapid part to work consistently. I've somewhat disassembled it and put some light oil on it. Then proceeded to fiddle with it trying to get the Rapid Acting part to work. It would work on and off always sticking in whatever mode I got it into. I'm fairly mechanical so I feel like I could have spotted any glaring issues but saw no missing or obviously damaged parts.

Do any of you guys have one of these vises? If so have you had this problem and how did you fix it?

I did readjust the screws on the side of the Rapid Nut housing but that didn't help and I put them back in the original position.

Also called Wilton which was a waste of time so no help there.

There's a 14105 number on the bottom of the vise but I think it's modern counterpart is 1445.

thanks in advance for any help!
Mike

I was able to flip the Rapid Nut around and the vise seems to work fine now.

Thanks for looking!
