Anyone know much about these? Picked this up today for the low low price of free. Has a baldor motor and seems to work pretty good. Runs on 220. This will be replacing my delta drill press. Kind of excited about having the large table.

Free? Where you shopping? That does look tough and if it's the same as the vice company, then you are a gawd! I say this because Wilton seems like Snap on..... the most bestis on earth period!

I have the 15-inch version of your drill press, and I love it. 6-inches of spindle stroke, variable speed, outstanding production table. And "Made in USA". Mine came with a 1750 rpm Dayton motor, but I replaced it with a 1140 rev Baldor to give me slower drilling speed for metals. Congrats on the great deal!

Free! You flipping ****! I bought mine new but it had a busted base and I still paid $500. That was maybe 15 years ago and she's still running as strong as ever and it gets used most everyday I'm in the shop.

Edit; and just think how hard it works drilling horizontal ....fricking uploads :p

Awesome to hear. Got it from a buddy who got it for free from his work and did not have power to run it. He just wanted the space back and told me to get it out of his way. Tried to pay him. He wouldn't take it. Even tried to give him my full size delta that was wired for 110. He wouldn't take it. He just said if he needs to use it he could come over and use it. Told him no problem.

The gauge is connected with a set of forks that attached to lever. When installing the hood you need to line it up. I bet that's all that is wrong, it's a pretty simple assembly. As for maintenance just a very lite oiling once every 5 yrs on the slide portions of the pulleys and maybe a couple times a year cycle it up and down thru its rpm range. Mine rarely comes off the lowest setting.

Great machine! Im still not sure if Wilton actually made these (and the sanding stations) but they almost look like Powermatic or Delta rebrands. Regardless, all seem to be high quality.

Take a RO sander with 180 grit and clean up the surface rust if you care. Oil or paste wax the top, maybe the column as well. Oil or grease the spindle if it looks dry. Check for runout on the spindle if you get any noticeable vibrations, replace that missing handle with a long bolt and custom handle, add a light, and be stoked on a nice 17 or 20?" machine.

I talked to a former manager from Wilton, and he said they were made in their Kentucky (or possibly Tennessee) plant.

I have one very similar and love it, got it for free as well, the maintenance shop at work replaced it with a newer machine and were looking to get rid of it. I have had no issues with it what so ever. Good find
