So I have a Wilton Vise that was given to me from my father after he passed. I want to restore the vise but have looked for hours and don’t see anything on it. I’m assuming I have a newer year vise. It’s in good shape for old and bad shape for new kinda. The only identifier on it is a “41” on one side and a “10” on the other. Pics posted along with it. It has 5” wide jaws and is adjustable is about all I got. Any help would be appreciated finding out what model it is. I just want to know what I’m working with because to me it’s priceless either way. Thanks!

I agree it looks just like this model but I don’t get the 41 and the 10? Do you know what that number represents? Again, it has a 5”wide jaw on it so it wouldn’t be 4-1/2. Normally, I understand the meaning of the numbers but not so much this time

Casting or part numbers. Those always mislead people with their first Wiltons. It was the same for me.

That's a nice vise. Bad shape? I don't see any abuse at all--all I see is chipped paint which is easy to fix with a paint job! The fact that your Dad owned it makes it even more special. You should see some of the sad ******* Wiltons I've dragged home looking for parts. Handles bent 30 degrees from cheater bars... swivel bases welded to the static jaw... vises beat to holy hell by gorillas wielding sledge hammers... insert ledges broken completely off by said gorillas. Post some pictures when you are done restoring it.

I wouldn't even bother to repaint it. Spray it with some rust inhibiter and use/abuse it. It's an import vise, much like every other found at Menards, Tractor Supply, Farm & Fleet, etc.
