A few weeks ago I posted a thread asking for help identifying a Wilton Juno 1106. Within hours it was positively identified by some very helpful members. Since then it has been sandblasted, had a few nicks and saw marks welded and smoothed. Another very kind member helped me out with decals as well. I still have to decide what to do with the handles, try to polish them or go all in and make new ones.
Now for the next big question, does anyone know what color these were. Mine appears to have been a dark blue but I’m not 100% sure that is original. I saw one other that was gold but not the same vintage as mine. That one had the Wilton name cast into the dynamic jaw, mine has no identifying marks anywhere, I guess that was why it had decals.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The bottom is red, so I’d bet your vise was originally painted red as so many other vises were back in the day. But then again, with yours having no cast in lettering, it might have been made by Wilton for another company who would then put their stickers on it. And maybe order it in a different color too. Who really knows?? :dunno:

That is definitely a possibility but...if someone did repaint mine blue they completely disassembled it and sandblasted it as there are no other colors under the blue and that color is present everywhere, even in between the swivel base and the vise body so I'm not sure either. I would like to hear from someone else who has a blue one, haha

That evidence is a strong indication that the vise was originally blue.
I personally feel that if the original paint is no longer present, it does not hurt to paint a vise a different color. Your vise…your color. I have seen more than one hot pink vises. For an ag equipment environment, John Deere green and yellow looks good.
