I know, there's probably at least two dozen threads with this info in it... but they're all HUGE threads, and searching through the individual threads to find the info will take forever.

What color and brand are you guys painting your Wilton vises? And where are you getting it?

I've got two I'm going to restore--one to keep, one to sell, and want them to look nice.

Thanks,
-Brad

Rustoleum Hammered Verde Green for the "most original" or Light Blue for a close second. Order it online, might have to order 6 at a time. Or talk to your local hardware store and see if they can order it in.

Don't mean to derail, but I have a question. I'm restoring a Wilton bullet also.
Are you guys painting the dust cap on the end of the vise or polishing the metal?
Mines in decent shape, but thinking about installing it and then painting over it.

Most folks seem to paint them like the rest of the vise. Some folks do polish them, but that would lead to rust in many places. I've gotten them clean, any dents removed, then primed, install in the vise, and paint with the rest.

I left mine bare to give it some contrast back there. I coated it with rust inhibitor and periodically wipe down all the bare metal with it too.

It depends on what kind of shape the end cap is in. If its beat up,ill prime and paint it. If its in very good condition, ill polish it up as long as it goes with the color and theme im going for on the vise colorway at the moment. If you have a vise that has a 1-11/16" dust cap,i am selling new ones that polish to a mirror shine if you need one!!! Very very nice! Send me a pm if youre interested!
