I was picking up a Wilton 9450 and Reed 204 today and the seller threw in this Wilton pattern maker's vise, or at least that's what I suspect it to be.

The woodworking jaws are 7" wide, and the metal jaws are 4" wide (missing the jaw inserts). It needs a handle, but that's not a big deal.

The front has "BF" under the big Wilton logo and a several different part numbers. Sorry the pics are a bit dark...I was inside and in a hurry. Anybody know anything about these or what they're worth?

It seems the be stuck due to the surface rust on the screw, but I've got some Kroil working on it now. I'll let that sit for a couple of days while I decide what to do with it.

I am 99% sure, it's the only vise of that style they ever sold, however, I do not know the actual "Part Number"... Sorry
There is an IDENTICAL "SHELDON" vise, not sure who made what for who, but I bet Wilton made them for Sheldon.

Take care Bart!

Thanks guys....I didn't think it was terribly common, but I did find a few pictures of similar models online. Now I just need to get a ballpark idea of what it might be worth.

Whatever someone is willing to pay.

Edited
If someone was looking for it to use I would guess $50-70 dollars.
I don't know how collectible it is but it's something that I would pay about $50 for. But it's Wilton so I'd probably guess it would go for $100-125

They made at least one more model of patternmakers vise; I have it. I was never able to find a model for it, either, when I was looking for parts. Eventually i made the parts. Here's a link to the post where I have pictures of it, and making the parts:

Not to be rude, but I can't imagine why you would even bother posting this. It's not helpful, and it's really only partially true.

For most things there is a ballpark price range that would be considered "normal" and that's what I'm talking about, but I think you probably already knew that.

I was mostly asking because if it's really worth something I was going to send the guy who gave it to me a few bucks since neither of us knew anything about it.

Yours looks a lot like the one in the ad Mickey posted.

Very nice work you did on yours!

I found a link to an old eBay ad for one that had the same part number (pictures were gone) and the seller had it listed for $179, but I can't tell if it sold.

I don't really care, but I figured if it was worth a reasonable amount I'd send the guy who gave it to me a few bucks to be fair since neither of us knew anything about it.
