So I picked this Wilton vise up yesterday for $75. I don't know all the info on it, maybe some of you do and could help out. It works great(a little stiff) but overall in great shape besides the white spray paint on it. I will be tearing it down and restoring it very soon(kind of like the "Jorgensen" in the pictures with it).

It has 4.5" wide jaws that are in great shape and opens to 7" safely.

The previous owner welded a snap on socket to it and was using a New Britain 1/2" breaker bar for some reason. Ill cut it off and find a replacement bar and then clean up and keep the breaker bar.

***The beer beside the Wilton is a 22oz bottle for size reference, and a normal 12oz by the grey vise.

You should be ashamed, and to ease your pain, I will give you $100 for it. Where are you? I will make arrangements to ship.

And.... you ****.

And.... I would leave the socket and breaker bar just for fun.

Nice comments guys haha, and yeah you have to love a good IPA!

The numbers I found on the main body of the vise are 101169, and I googled it and came up with it being a C1 model.

The numbers on the underside of the extension part are 10-77, and I interpreted that to be the date in which the 5 year warranty would have expired(googled that too) so it should be about 1972 for a build date. Cool in my mind!

Thanks, yeah those green parts cabinets are cool and handy. Also a great craigslist find a while back! Half of the drawers were full of grade 5 hardware for $50 total!

Love the Wilton - hell, your Jorgie #6 is pretty cool as well... so for both of those, I sense a double suckage of tornado quality coming... :rocker:

Congrats on the score. My Wilton is a brass jaw solid mount - wish it were a turret, and while I love the sold mount, the turret is just cool.

Great vices, great score on the "Wilton". Just one problem, isn't it against the rules to have 2 beers going at once/
lol

Pour that IPA over it. Even if it doesn't take the rust off, at least you are rid of the IPA.

Thanks, the Jorgenson was free form my old job (trash can) and I cleaned it up to what it is now.

I couldn't ever find it in me to waste such good bitter beer! Haha, its defiantly an acquired taste I suppose but it helps to drink two at a time:)

Coming up on year since you got the vise in Sept 2014. I'm guessing that MapleMoose was curious what's happened with vise ??

Did you cut off the breaker bar handle, or shine it up ??

Sorry for not responding to the questions on here, I hadn't checked the thread in a long time! I moved a few times and the vise has been in storage but now I'm finally getting around to restoring it. Talk about taking forever haha.

Yeah man I was a 0321 and 0372

You can get a really nice handle for it from KMScott (wiltonviseparts.net) if you haven't already looked into one.

The C1 is a super nice vise....it should be awesome when you're done!

Thanks Bart, I was really wondering if I could replace the original handle. That will help a lot! I really didn't want to keep using the breaker bar/welded socket setup that the old owner had on it.

seems like the guy might have been using it as a press and used a large bar on the end it might explain using the wrench

That vise would be my last choice for use as a press. With those tall jaws it's very easy to bend or crack a casting. There's quite a few pics of Wilton C-1 vises that were ruined like that.
