I picked this vise and craftsman 1/4" wratchet at the swap meet today. I was wondering if anyone can give some info on them like how old they are? Thanks.

Good score. I have one and love the retro look. You have the pipe jaws that are often missing. They date from the 50's from what I remember.

I believe the Shop King made its debut in Wilton's 1953 catalog. Wilton assigned the Shop King with the 630 series #. Wilton called it their "Hardware Vise" and said it had " The most value for the customer's dollar" and its remained the Flag Ship of their economy line for over 20 years. Finally in the middle 70's Wilton replaced it with their 640 series Utility Workshop vise that we know today. Collectability isn't high but it still makes for a nice usable vise for the bench. Usually one or both pipe jaws are long gone. Their usability is alot better then their resale value
