Picked up a later model Tradesman 1760 that was missing the dust cap the other day. Of course I immediately had to have one and scoured the forum and internet looking for options.
First choice was obviously a stock replacement and surprisingly they do still make them as they are the same as the current 1765 model. Unfortunately they are out of stock until at least Feb 2019 according to their parts dept, and you have to buy the end cap assembly to get it. Sure seems like with all the complaints of poor packaging and scuffed or damaged dust caps that they would stock these separately just for ease of handling damage claims.
Part #2907780
Second choice was a axle grease cap available at O'Reillys auto. This cap is a little small and don't even try to just force it on. It feels like it should fit but the lip narrows a bit too much to get it on without damage. I cut half the lip off (probably optional) and then cut little notches about 3/4" apart all the way around. Hammered those out just little and it now slides on but still has enough grip to keep it in place.
It has a nice dome shape and really keeps the original look as much as possible.
