Wilton Vise 101167- Pipe jaws

I have an old 101167 Wilton Vise 3.5in combination vise. The date stamp on the bottom of the slide bar of the vise is 78.

This vise is missing the pipe jaws and the pins that hold the pipe jaws in place. As well as the sealed end cap and the swiveling T-bar hold down handles.

I contacted Wilton and they stated they no longer make/sell parts for this vise.

Anyone have pipe jaws and pins they are selling? End cap? T handles? Used or new?

Or have any ideas on how to source them?

It says I have to post for more times in order to be able to link anything. But I will link a picture of my exact vise after it allows me to

I’m betting your Wilton has C0 (c zero) in raised lettering on the side. Just like JTD said.

I have a C1 that was missing the swivel lock down handles. I substituted Stainless Steel acorn nuts. They look great and work fine but of course, they aren’t “proper”.

If you find somebody to make a set of pipe jaws for you, they can be attached with roll pins which are easily found in a good hardware store.

Ok, do you have any ideas where to purchase pipe jaws? That is what I'm struggling with most.

That vise was one of my Covid projects. It now looks like this. I used Rustoleum Verde Green.

Wow!!! That is a beauty! How did you take off the old paint?

I was thinking about the rusty 34C you listed on here back in January

Used to, wish!!!

Kevin Scott, who used to own the business wiltonviseparts, recently retired and sold the business. The new machinist who took over is not yet up and running 100%. Maybe in a short while, you will be able to get parts from there.

It looks like that vise was wrapped in duct tape for a while.

Is there lettering in this spot? I think I see some evidence in your photo.

How much is the 32C

Packing and Shipping is too much of a hassle. Do you have a buddy who lives in the Bay Area that could pick it up? Or with the desert heat full on right now, are you looking for an excuse to get a few lungs full of our natural air conditioning? It’s a little under 600 miles.

I think $300 is fair.

I have a buddy that is coming down from OR sometime soon, that was my plan with that 34C you had.

Not sure when he is coming though. Ok, I will keep that in mind.

Ok, I will continue to try to find pipe jaws. Maybe I can take the newer c-0 pipe jaws and take the spring retainer clip off them that they are using now, and drill a hole in them for the threaded roll-pin.

Idk, was hoping someone had experience with this.

https://www.ereplacementparts.com/pipe-jaws-p-1533393.html

That’s not the best plan. I think it would be too difficult to drill a straight hole that far through hardened steel.

Agreed, that is why I knew I needed some wisdom. I do have a beast 1.5HP Jet floor drill press; thinking I might be able to get it done if I clap/vise the new pipe jaws I am drilling into. IDK, I cannot find any pipe jaws that have the pin holes drilled.

And I contacted Wilton, and they said "This is a vintage 3 1/2" combo pipe and bench vise. We do not have any parts here for this vise any longer. I suggest that you contact garagejournal.com for assistance."

You need these with the single pin. Sorry but I can not speak for the new owners of my websites. I have not trained them yet in building pipe jaws. Wilton made three different types but all at the same length, width and height. The oldest set has two pin holes, yours are the single pin and a second generation C0 and the newer ones had the small clip bolted to the back with a 1/4:20 screw.

2-1/4 long, 1-1/2 tall and 1" thick.

The pin you need is 5/16 diameter x the width of your vise and one end knurled to press into the vise. The pipe jaws are suppose to wobble a bit so they can find center of the pipe or bar you are clamping. Be patient and watch e-bay or wait till http://www.wiltonviseparts.net/ opens up.

Thanks for chiming in Kevin,
With those excellent pics you added, and the exact measurements of the needed hole, I bet 7mmRem will be able to fit some pipe jaws into that old C0.
