wilton vise 1941-42 ?,does this correct on the tail end

friction is the only thing holding on the end part,or has this been modified?..also where can i fine 4" jaws with a guide hole in the center,,and maybe an end cap..thanks

That's been modified... it looks like the end of the main body has possibly been shortened. There should be 2 pins in front of the tail piece holding both pieces and the nut together... I'm wondering if the body has been cut through the pin holes...

As far as the jaw inserts and end cap, there are usually some for sale on ebay... I have heard of people using automotive wheel bearing hub covers on some of the bullet vises, but I haven't tried it myself...

thanks for that, pretty sure I'm right about the date?,maybe some set screws to help hold it.probably not the correct handle,how long are they,this one is about 8"....thanks again!
