Wilton Vise 60176 Restoration Project

So I got a smoking deal on an old Wilton Vise and I want to restore it. I have it mostly taken apart but I cannot figure out how to remove the nut on the inside of the vise. There are two set pins on the outside but only ONE hole on the inside of the vise that's visible. So I thought that I just needed to punch the one out, it would fall, then I'd remove the nut, then punch the second one and remove the end cap. Well currently I cannot punch the one that COULD go all the way through (theoretically) because it's hitting the other wall now and won't give. It is fully through the outer shell but just won't release. I would try hitting it harder but I do NOT want to damage this beauty. The textured side is the outer side. I also can't find anything that talks about this model of vise online so I figured I'd flood you guys with pictures and see if anyone else has a better idea.

It's a C series.

Tap pins out from the inside with a hammer and Allen key.

Better yet leave it in place unless there's a problem.

There are some good examples on this site on taking the pin out from the inside. I would be careful and clean the hole out with the same size drill bit and then from the inside using maybe a wedge to force the pin out enough to get a allen wrench under with lots of Kriol oil. True story.

I've looked but I have only been able to find the "bullet" vise so far. I can definitely take care of the hole and treat it for any damage I do, but if you have any suggestions of threads or videos that would be great. Currently, the set pin is all the way through the bore in the middle but the nut still won't release I have hit the nut with the handle a hammer but it didn't release. I do have to take it out to put a new powder coat on it, but I don't want to damage anything if I can avoid it.

I did tap the first pin that has a hole for it to come out of, but it is now hitting the other side and still not releasing. See the last two pictures I have posted here.

Remove Nut Pins From Wilton Vise?

I have Wilton 3-1/2 inch machinist vise that is one sad *******, and I need to remove the nut. But how to I get the pins out? Any suggestions?
