Wilton Vise Advice

I've been needing a vise for my shop for awhile now and I have a chance to pick up this Wilton vice for about $50 bucks. The swivel base has a crack as you can see in one of the pictures. I'm wondering if this is a good price and if I can easily replace or find somebody to weld the base. Cleaning it up and giving it a good paint job would be a fun project.

I'd say not worth the hassle. Vise might be worth $50 unbroken.

Really, I thought they had more value than that? Or at least, I doubt I could buy a comparable vise for the same price. I'm mostly looking for something that will be useful. I guess another way to look at it is to ask if there is a better vise I could get for the money that I would have into this after fixing it up?
