Came across this while doing a delivery for work. It’s at a NAPA store. I dont know a lot about vises, but do need a new one. Just wondering if this is a good deal or not? Thank you in advance.

My buddy bought that same setup for $177, then gave me the sledge.....so a great deal for ME! But it is a nice vise for the $$, good closure, smooth operation. The paint makes you see it easily out of the corner or your eye as well, handy in a small shop like his.

Like many other tools, if you want a good one you need to find an older one.
I see good old vises at flea markets all the time for less. Get a new set of jaws and your good to go.

There are currently 11 of them on ebay right now that are cheaper. (shipping included).
So, it's a fair deal, but not amazing.
(Lowest currently is $143)

Zoro has them for 120-130 after coupons. Not a bad deal at that cost. Another strong option are the yost fsv (if they can be found) or the newer adi series .

Of course the best option would be finding an older model. Restored they can look better than new.

Cheap imported vise, no better than Mastercraft (Menards), Craftsman (Sears or Lowes), Bessey (HD), etc. Not worth over $100 in my book....

In fact, in you like the Wilton vise you can buy it for $99 from Sears:

https://www.sears.com/wilton-shop-v...Id=CPO Outlets&prdNo=9&blockNo=9&blockType=G9

The sign in the NAPA picture hides some detail as to whether or not they are the same design. There are a pile of different sizes of that vise. Should be able to verify which one is on sale in the NAPA flier for comparisons.
The number 676 and 11128 do come up with the same 6 1/2", 41 pound vise as Sears is advertising!! Is that hammer worth the extra $67 ???

Hell, I think I paid damn near $400 for one of these with a Snap On sticker on it off the truck about 35 years ago. Yea, the old saying about a fool and his money soon parted. But I still have it.
