Looking for a spindle screw and handle for a 101033 or 9450. Mine is worn where the collar rides and I don’t know anyone that could weld filler and re-cut the space for the collar washer on a lathe. Anyone that has one for sale please let me know. Also need a thrust washer. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

1/74 is stamped on the slide. I have talked to the people at the Wilton tool corporation, and despite what many people say, the man at the Wilton corporation stated that this was made in 1969 and the stamp was the five-year expiration date.
Just curious as to why you were asking about the date stamp on the vise… did they change the spindle screw size at some point the 9450? Here is a couple pictures of the vise when I started out and what it looks like now. Not bad for 60 bucks.
If you look at where the collar rides, you can see how worn out it is and how much space there is now.
So if you have or know anybody or any forum where I might look for this screw, I would really appreciate it.

That’s a strange problem indeed.
I’ve never seen or heard of a point of wear that severe on a Wilton machinist vise.
Im still trying to imagine what kind of use or abuse would result in such extreme wear at that point on the vise body. (Circled in the pic below)

Lots of rust combined with heavy use and no lubrication?

I see the heavy wear on the front where the handle and screw assembly goes into the dynamic jaw support. That area wore out due to heavy use and no lubrication. That’s really a shame because it’s so easy to squirt in oil once in a while. Nothing special is needed.

It has heavy damage to the main screw, the dynamic jaw support and the main vise body, The vise nut is probably worn as well. IMHO, For $60 and the work it took to achieve that nice paint job, it will make a nice shelf queen.

Yes, the spindle length changed over the years, as the vises became huskier. Measure the length of your spindle and then check ebay for new listings every day. That's the way I found a new Wilton 3.5" spindle for 1/3 of the Wilton price. It would help if you could find the part number for that spindle.
