Hello all, I have a Wilton Vise I've been trying to determine the age from.

When my grandfather passed away the vise was the only thing I wanted because of all the memories we had over the years. I was going to attach a photo but as I'm a new member I cannot so I will describe it.

-It appears the original paint was red
-The only marking I can find are on the front of the clamp WILTON CHICAGO USA
-This is a bench mount vise that is mounted with 3 bolts

Go poke around google for a pic that matches or is close, then post a link.

Post up any numbers on the vise and their location. If you unscrew the dynamic jaw all the way and flip the slide over you might find some more numbers.

I've tried that, cannot find any markings other than the stamp on the dynamic jaw stating that it's Wilton.

I don’t recall any Wilton bench vises being marked on the dynamic, maybe a woodworker’s vise?

If you want assistance you need to post a pic or search images of Wilton vises and post a link to one that looks about right.

Does it look like this little guy?

I don’t know anything about this model, but it’s the only vise I know of that could be what you’re talking about.

Here is OP's pic - looks like electron got it right. The only Wilton I was aware of with a hardy hole is the Shop King - this a new one for me.

Found a 1950 Wilton catalog scan that looks like both of the vises in the photos.
