I have a Wilton vice 101157/101158. I had an idea how much I was going to sell it for but then I found a defect, now I'm not sure. It seems the support area under one of the jaws is missing? I used it as a machinist for over 10 years and never noticed the defect. It works great, very smooth . Can any vice experts tell me what they think the price should be.

John: the part # might help some of the guys tell you what your vise is, but if you can post up a few pictures and tell us the width of the jaws it will help most of us know what you have. sorry to hear the jaw support is broken off and that will definitely effect the value depending on the extent or how little the damage is.

Here is the one i just sold. It was a 1992 NOS never used. Had some dents and dings in it from sitting around but otherwise basically unused. I went completely through it and repainted it. I ended up getting $345 for it plus a Columbian d44 and a smaller sears vise as trade.

John: that probably would depend on your rating as an ebay seller and the time of year. i've been in sales all my life and August and January are the slowest months for most shoppers. disclosing the defect might get you around $150 in my opinion, but i've seen some sell for a lot less so instead of bidding maybe do a Buy It Now auction, but that is up to you.

Sometimes Bullets with busted jaws supports do OK, It depends what what you have into that vise. Typically those that are looking for their 1st bullet may want his 1st to be complete. For a user on the other hand thats going to throw this vise on a bench and put it to serious work my not be concerned about a missing piece that does not effect its operation.
you could start it out at $200 and if it doesn't draw much interest, lower it to $160
Yeah, the complete base assy, the jaws, collar, spindle and nut assy, and rear nut housing Even the Dynamic might bring you about the same. List it 1st. and sell the parts as a last resort. I sold a couple with busted supports and I got around $160 but that was back in the day.
Give it a try as a "good until cancel BIN". If it hasn't sold after a week or two then edit your ad to include "Best Offer". If it still hasn't sold then gradually ratchet your price down until it does.
That will come close to getting you lots of exposure and the best price.
It looks like a very nice vise and probably works very well. When i look for a vise,there must not be any broken pieces on it all so i can refurbish it and resell it. Buyers are real finicky about their bullets and they want them complete. I have a friend that wont even consider a slightly broken wilton. You could find a buyer thats wanting his first bullet that doesnt have alot of money. The piece thats broken on your vise doesnt effect functionality but personally id use it for parts. Dont let that discourage you though. You might still be able to get a couple hundred or less out of it.
Dont forget that shipping a 60lb vise aint gonna be cheap plus ebay and paypal both want their cut as well. I think 150-160 like autopts said is what you might get for it. I would craigslist it first before ebay. I use ebay as a last resort since shipping a vise is a pain in the rear and the cost of ebay,paypal,and shipping together is atrocious!
