Wilton vise questions

I bought a 9300 fixed base yesterday on ebay. After looking at several 9300s I have a couple of questions.

1.) What does the letter N mean after 9300? Mine is not a N so curious about the difference between the two.

2.) On the one I bought there is no city *Chicago OR Schiller Park Ill.* listed below Wilton only USA? Why were some listed with no city? I actually prefer no city.

Thanks for any help!

For larger stuff I have a Chas. Parker 974. It's handled everything I've thrown at it for over 10yrs now.

And I know those things on the Wilton don't matter but I'm curious about the history.

I was watching that vise on eBay, but didn't bid since I picked up a similar 3" for a bit less earlier in the week.

I e-mailed the seller to ask if it had a tail cap in place and she replied she would add a picture, but never did. I thought I could see it from the side, but wasn't sure.

The markings changed over the years, so some have no city and USA like yours, some have Chicago, some have Schiller Park, and the newest models just have Made in USA.

When you get it, unscrew the dynamic all the way out, look at the flat key on the bottom and there should be a date stamp telling you when it was made.

The N is only used to describe the newer models. An N is fixed base, and an S is swivel base, but they aren't marked that way....it's just used on their website to denote the difference.
