Can someone tell me more about this vise. Have never seen a 4" triple duty. Any help appreciated. I found at a garage sale and paid $40.00.

Never seen A Wilton like that but it was made in the US of A:rocker:!!

My guess is the "triple duty" is referring to the fact that it has an anvil, swivel base and pipe jaws. It was probably sold as a home/hobbyist vise. Again, this is a guess. Still a cool vise. Has some of the art deco lines like the shopmaster does.

The only "triple duty" ones that I've seen are the Titan brand. Maybe they were made by Wilton?? I wish one could find more history on the Wilton company..

Plenty of info on Wilton here as well as the world wide web. They are still in business. Call them up if you aren't happy with your web surfing results.

Triple Duty was made in the 50's and was one of Wilton't first home utility vises. They don't have alot of resale value but are rugged small vises. Nice find!

Stand back Autopts! I am about to flood this post with information. Some I made up and some the Internet made up. This is a Triple vise because it is a:
1. Woodworking vise
2. Bench vise
3. Pipe vise
It also has the Rapid Titan feature. Tighten the handle clockwise and it engages a nut ant moves the jaw inward. Opposite rotation disengages the nut allowing you to pull the jaw out without levers.
Yes....I am reading this off of a 1961 Wilton Catalog page that for some reason I can't get to download here. This vise also came with (and I kid you not) Masonite jaw covers for your hobby work!
