I have one mounted to a post outside my shop. It serves as a beater vise and I have no complaints.

Not sure of your budget and if you are willing to consider a smaller USA vise but here is a Reed 103 on eBay for a decent price.

It was free and it holds stuff that I hit with a big hammer. And stuff that I weld.

Does it hold a candle to my Wilton C1 or my Parker 273? Not a chance, but it does keep some weld spatter off of them.

I guess these must not be a popular vise. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced new vice? Not finding anything used that isn’t junk or priced out of my budget.
