Do you have a winch in your shop?

I have several. One mounted on my CJ5, one on a 4Runner and one on a Polaris ATV all of which are parked in the shop.

Then there are three or four which aren't mounted on any vehicles, but are within the building envelope of the shop.

I know, not what you're looking for but I couldn't resist given the open ended nature of the question.

I'm thinking of mounting one with some kind of removable anchors in the floor so I can pull vehicles in by myself. I was looking at a 2500 lb one which I am told might be enough to pull a vehicle on an almost flat surface.

Use my 8k skidloader for pushing and lifting as well

Use it to pull cars into the garage and up onto the lift.
Very handy.

I looked at those pullzalls but I thought 1000 lb wouldn't be enough to pull a full size car or pick-up. Have you had any issues with it? I have other uses at work if that would work in my shop.

My buddy has one anchored to the floor under under the workbench that's in front of the lift. He always says it's one of the best things he's added to the shop.

Bought a cool hoist on CL for $60.......1/3 HP and 1,200 capacity

This hoist is bad ***

Even came with the owners manual from 1974

Sealed, Oil bath lubricated motor with actual bearings

The 1/4" cable has seen better days, but that was a simple and easy fix for $20-ish

Lifts 1,200 on a single line

Gear reduction is 533:1

Even has a no slack drum with an electric brake built in

The long controller cable and long 110v plug is also great

I've got an out-of-production Warn 3200 AC-R. It's great for pulling cars into the shop (up a slight incline) and just moving stuff around.

I've got two. One is just a manual come-along type winch.

The other is a HF 2500 lb that I bolt to my trailer deck to load non-running cars.

I like the idea of mounting one under the bench by the lift, never would've thought of that but I'll definitely add it to the plans once I win the lottery and can afford my dream shop.

If one or two people can push your car, a 1000-lb capacity pullzall can absolutely move the same car.

It'll lift 1,00ft straight up (or so they claim - never tried it).
But It'll roll much more.
I've pulled cars up about a 20 deg incline - it slowed down some, but kept going.
No issues at all pulling my 3/4 ton truck up the ramp onto my lift.

On my 4-post lift I just wrapped a strap around the front crossbar of the lift and attached the pullzall to that.
