Window A/C through interior wall

OK. So here is what I am thinking. I have a 40x63 pole barn I will be building a shop in next spring. The "shop" will be approx 20x25 in one corner. I don't want to use one of my windows or cut a whole in the steel for a window unit as the only 2 sides available are the 2 sides seen from the house and drive.

I am thinking about putting the A/C in a wall on the inside of the building. I don't care about that portion of the building getting hot. It gets hot in there in the summer anyway.

So this would cool the shop and vent into the rest of the building. I can route the evaporation where I want so the water isn't an issue.

Am I missing something? any downside?

Thanks.

Brian

I have a 40 by 60 building about an hour from home and I built a Man Cave in 250 square feet in the corner. My air conditioner for the cave is through the wall into the rest of the building. No problems. Usually the barn is cooler than outdoors, so I never noticed any appreciable heat in the barn. New high efficiency air conditioners rarely have condensation dripping from them.

Ive got a 18k btu sleeve unit in one of my shops, its in a wall that is common with the interior of the horse barn side of the building. I wanted it out of site, and not in the sun light.

There is very good air movement through the barn, because of the way it sits and the wind is almost always blowing here, it cools fine and you cant really tell there is more heat in the horse side, it works well. We have high humidity all summer, so my condensate line just runs to the dirt/stone floor of the interior of the barn. So it works fine, and was an easy install (except that A/C unit is heavy as hell !).
