I am putting an RV window in the back of my truck. The window is a common RV window that was designed to mount with an inner frome. I don't have an inner frame and would like to use butyl or urathene to glue the frame to the back of the cab. Two questions, first urathane or butyl? Then should I use some thing to apply pressure to the window frame while the adhesive cures? The window is 36X15 here is a pic of the window in the truckPXL_20230603_195914124.jpg

Safe to assume the window gasket does not have an internal lip to fit over the edge of the opening and you are just trying to flat mount the gasket to the face material of the cab?

There is no lip, the window frame/cab skin would be the primary attachment point. I will add some physical attachments to the inside like angles once the window is set.PXL_20230601_201617913.jpg

If you use 3M Window-weld, make sure you use the right primer. They have one for the glass if it’s the surface being glued and they have a different one for the metal. It makes a difference so be sure to read and follow the directions.

OK,,
I have a couple tubes of Sikaflex P2G based on another forum poster? Thinking about this, the window frame and the cab are both metal. The glass is not the surface being glued, is this stuff able to bond metal to metal? I was originally planing to use VHB tape but was talked into using glass glue? Tomorrow is the day IF this will work or use VHB or something else?
