I am looking to install a window on a outer wall on my garage but I am not sure of what brand of windows is good. Not looking for the most expensive or the cheapest. Looking for something that will last and work. The side of the garage gets light all day during the day. I am installing to bring air into the garage because my garage gets hot. So any suggestions?

IMO any low-E slider will be easy to deal with. Find out what brands your local supply yard has, and go from there.

If it is going to be a window that you want to open regularly I would go down to Home Depot or Lowes etc and try some of them out. There is a huge difference in how easy they open and close and how they tilt in for cleaning etc.

Besides the advice you already received, I would add that going with a window style that matches the rest of your house would be good too.

What brand of windows do you already have in your home? Is there a name anywhere on them that you can make out?

#1 'Good' Windows are all relative....
#2 There are a TON of different 'local/regional' manufacturers out there that make 'good' windows, so when someone mentions a brand who is in FL don't necessarily expect to find it in Idaho.....
#3 Typically you get what you pay for....

Andersen and Pella have a premium on them because of brand recognition....

MI, PlyGem, JeldWen, Alpine, etc. are brands most people don't know, but they make a decent product(s)....No clue if they're in Idaho though....

I used Andersen 400 series, there are also 100- and 200- series as I recall, with different price points.

I was after durability and insulation value (??? yes its minimal but they clam a U factor of 0.25, if you do the math it turns out that R = 1/U so they potentially have an R value of 4).

More expensive than I wanted but I feel like it was worthwhile, I very much like the natural light.

There used to be a lumberyard here with a "full service division" that installed windows, kitchens, etc, that had a pretty good indoor display/showroom. I would seek one of those out if you can find one close by. Its often very helpful to touch & see the goods firsthand.
