So the Andersen window thread got me thinking..... How do they typically replace windows with a brick facade on the outside? My house is typical wood framing and sheeting. The best I can tell the windows went in next with a nailing flange. Then a full size brick veneer wall was set. So you cant access the window flange. I did a little looking a while back and I came across 2 different methods. The first was to take apart the bricks around the windows and have a mason reset and repair it. The other method I saw was to tear apart the window and pry the window frame in tearing out the nails and flange. Then it looks like they had a window made that fits in the hole with no flange and attach it and caulk up any gaps. Anyone had it done to there house? Experience?
