Only window facing my dooryard is in the man door, so the dog puts his front feet up against the sill/bottom of window to look out.
The window is 1 piece but has plastic trim to make it look like 9 panes.
Like this:

Grit on his feet and maybe his nails is scratching the glass. While it's not a high end door, I'd prefer it not get slowly damaged.

I bought some 3M PPF, meant for cars thinking it could work like a cell phone screen protector.

It's not as clear as I'd have guessed, seems to scratch rather easy (even the soft squeegee was scratching it a bit while trying to install).

Also not sure it'll be that easy to remove, info I'm finding talks about needing to steam it off. There's not really an edge easy to get because of the trim.

Any ideas?
Dog not getting up on the door would be ideal, but he's learned the camera and driveway alarm means there's something.
If it's "stranger danger" he'll bark, and that's not a bad thing.

I stuck the fails attempts of the PPF and now doggo has just been sitting by the door vs climbing on it.
