Window Unit Recs Please for the following shop

Metal Shop size: 20X30X (15 to roof peak of roof)

Insulation: R13 walls ONLY. Walls are 10' to bottom of rafters...then it's an open vault to metal roof. Only drip roll under metal roof / NO roof insulation.

I have a 3'(W) X4'(H) window that has a wired reciprocal box (10ga wires) next to it. The wires are off a 30 amp double pole breaker. / (220 V)

Looking at 18000 BTU to 25000 BTU window unit....or...... recommendations from you guys......

What would you folk recommend? (keep in mind, the ZERO insulation under roof).

I recommend to insulate first and foremost. In the summer of MO even a 25000 btu isn't going to hack it in a non insulated ceiling. The ceiling is far more important than the walls.

With no ceiling insulation and a metal roof you’re better of investing in one of those cooled suits like race car drivers use. Cooling the air of that shop in the MO heat is going to be an exercise in spending lots of money on your electric bill.

A well insulated shop will reduce day time high temps even without air conditioning. The difference is truly amazing once you’ve experienced the same space with and without good insulation.
