Windows for Office In Shop

I'm building an office inside my 40' x 60' shop. I want some nice windows to look out into the shop from the office. Maybe two windows that are 2' x 3' and one a bit bigger. I've been on the Menards website and can't really find anything. I want just a plain window to see through. It doesn't need to open at all. Just a window. Any ideas what type I should look for? Can't seem to find them.

Do you have any tear down recycle companies in the area. Someone must be near that tears down houses and have windows or just even sash’s.

I prefer, any time I can fit one, a sliding patio door.
Floor to almost ceiling view. Can be pinned shut and can be an emergency or large item ingress or egress. (you'll thank me when you want something wider than a door in or out of your office.)

P. S.
There's no rule saying you can't put a chair in front of it or a desk or a TV. You're not using it as a door, you're using it as a window.

What he said. Better to have the big opening, even if you don't need it immediately

Since the window doesn't have to open, you could easily make a window any size you want. I just made two small windows for a guy that were used in his kid's playhouse. I didn't use glass, I used some heavy duty Plexiglas so the kids won't break them. Point is, making a window that won't open is simple to do and you can make it the exact size you want it to be.

Call some siding and roofing suppliers who also sell windows. They usually have some "dead stock". Those are from incorrect orders, orders not picked up, etc. They are brand new and sell for pennies on the dollar.

Home Depot and Lowes sell sheets of glass (no Menards around so I don't know about them). Frame an opening and put stops in to hold the glass. You can trim it however you want. I'm sure you can buy glass at pretty much any building material supplier.

You could also consider a double door with full windows. It would allow you to bring in a large object in the future.

When you check out Menard's site, look under "Ray's bargains."

When we built out the office a few years ago we put in a scrap of plexi we had - it's about 3x5. Put trim on one side, insert plexi, nail in trim on the other side.

Now I can see what's going on in the shop.

It's an interior window. A fully framed, caulked, and insulated glass window isn't necessary. It doesn't need to be weather resistant, just stop the dust and reduce the noise.

Keep it simple.

Yes, the largest barn sash was 28x28 with a single pane. Anything bigger was divided lite.

I misread the OP, didn't realize it was interior windows.
ageed, no need for anything fancy or thermal , any glass/plexi/lexan in a wood frame is fine

I'd stay clear of plexiglass as a window like that. I would hate the scratches when you start cleaning it.....varying with what type of work you're doing and the dust it creates.

A friend of mine used the stationary sliding patio door mounted sideways in an exterior wall for a great view. You could do the same inside.

Have a Habitat ReStore in your area? The windows we put in our office buildout came from there - 3' wide 6' high vinyl, non-operable window for less than $100 each. They were misorders or something, but had 4 and it was exactly what we needed.

Maybe its just our location but the one near me always has windows in the supplies area.
