I'm a fan of windows in a garage, just because of the natural light it adds, during the summer it can provide a nice breeze or during the winter it can be nice to air out a garage while running a snowmobile or ATV without having to open up the overhead door and let out a lot of heat.

I struggled about deciding to put windows. The view out these is magnificent ...a lake and trees...so I went for it.

Look carefully above the windows and you will see the casing for auto roll up metal doors like in a drive up business window where they role down at night. Custom made the were about 400 each...but they are secure, easy and provide piece of mind when I am gone and have them down.

No windows here. Dislike them in a garage. Take up wall space and if you want sunlight just keep the overhead door open. If it's night, they serve no purpose anyway.

Factor in security and privacy...........I have no use for them.

My opinion, everyone has one.

I have a pole barn and no windows in it at all. I also have a shop with 13'+ ceilings with fixed windows and the bottoms start at the 8' height. Gives me some natural light.
