Anyone use the Jeld-wen windows from Home depot for their hose and garage. They seem like a fair price but I was wondering if the sliding windows are as good as the crank out style?

I bought 5 2x4 and 3 4x4 jeldwen overstocks and got all but one of the 2x4 installed in my garage. They seem built well and open and close great after install. They also seem to seal real well

Jeld-Wen are one of the above-average end new home construction windows. They're good quality and come with a lifetime warranty (for the window packages bought for new homes, I don't know about retail windows). I'm not sure if they're competitively priced but they should be fairly decent quality. They were about 3G more expensive than the typical new home window package supplier (all-weather). I know a few custom home builders who will only use Jeld-Wen now, the Willmar series I believe.

I've got 36x36" Jeld Wen vinyl sliders in the new garage. They are a great window. And I couldn't pass up the $60 price tag. They stock em at the local bargain home fix up store.

I recently spec'ed their clad wood windows on a project. They are a decent product. In recent years, they've actually acquired Pozzi, Norco, and Caradco and those now make up their "Custom" and "Premium" window lines.

Personally, even though vinyl windows have improved quite a bit over the years, I still cannot bring myself to use them. They can work if they are fairly small, but as the size increases I just see too many cases of the weight of the glass being too much and over time they end up breaking apart at the joints.

Don't look at all Jeld-Wens that way. Some are higher end and then they carry a lower end window. I looked at the replacement Jeld-Wen at Menards and was not all that pleased with them. My dad put a Jeld-Wen sliding door in his house and it is a hell of a door. Very very nice. Don't get me wrong, they are a top notch company and I wish I had their windows in my house instead of Andersons, but look at what you get and if it has a cheap price it is a cheaper window.
