this is mostly a therapeutic rant. I reached out to the company last week, but haven’t heard back from them. I’m hoping it’s the holidays and they will respond after. Though I need the wire right now.

4/0 cable wrapped around a three-quarter inch spindle. And there was room in the box not to do this.

I don’t think I got the end of the roll. The manufacturer would never wrap it around something so small. Maybe it’s just the new guy.

Whats the problem? Its finely stranded wire, so it should be very flexible

It's welding cable so very flexible.

Hard to say just looking at it. i was under the impression wire had a min bending radius. Generally speaking. Winding this tight seems like a terrible idea.

I've ordered plenty of wire that doesn't come with a spool at all and that would be better than that silly thing, Regardless, I'm with ya, it's cheesy. That said, it's probably better to just move on with life and find a new wire source if you feel it necessary.

I bought some underground cable last year that was advertised as being spool ends. It wasn’t like that, though. Mine was perfectly useable.

I've gotten 2/0 from them and it came the same way, slightly annoying but I didn't have any issues once I straightened it out.

Can't really expect a high level of attention to detail from the cheapest but still actually copper wire on Amazon/ eBay.

It's unlikely very many strands are broken from that, unless you need every last % of the current capacity of that wire I would not worry.

The wire is labeled with their brand, so I doubt this is the case

Ive bought cable(4/0) from them and it came carefully rolled in a hand coil.
I see no issue with what they sent you.
