That's really cool that you helped your son with that bug project. I wish I could have gotten my father to do something like that when I was that age.

I think most car guys get into bugs at one point or another. I have a 74 baja project that got a bit out of hand. 2.5 subi engine, a arm front suspension, watercooled vanagon trans w/cable shifter, 1/8" pans with a 3 in body lift, and a tube chassis other than the pan. It will be years before I finish it.

Thanks for posting the update. I haven't browsed enough to find all the GJ air cooled enthusiasts . I have a 65 Kombi in my garage that I am working on. Actually its been sitting way too long and I should be finished with my garage this winter to be able to get back on the Bus early next year. I'm making a parts list to find at Bulli Brigade and Bug Jam next month. Thanks for pushing me a little further on my project.
