Where do I start. Wife wanted to move because my daughter and her love horses and we started to outgrow our first house/garage. Of course sh lured me in with....you can build the garage of your dreams.

Well....winter is definatly the worst time to clear land for a pasture and build a garage here in the Northeast. So far I've lost 2 walls and 15 truss's due multiple 60+ mph wind storms! Geez.

Anyway.....the wife and daughter are happy they have their new miniature horse home (he's got a temporary shelter) while I continue building the barn and workshop.

Snakes scare me and I know he's hiding in there somewhere!!!

My first path into the woods to the foundations we found back there

Yep, know what ya mean by high wind, we had it too in Ohio! No fun at all. Maybe things will settle down now and we can all make progress on our builds.

Yep...right along with Rinker we've had the wind also. Lost a back roof last fall because of it and lost a back roof the other day. Down the road they were building a new house...well they have to build it over.

What the heck kind of trees do you have that produces that type of trash? They all look pretty twisted up and knarly. Looks about time for a dozer and a pack of matches. You have your work cut out for you but the project is looking great.

There were a ton of vines and **** in the trees. It was like a jungle in some parts. I bought a grapple for my skid steer and it made quick work of much of this stuff. I had a local company drop off 30yd containers for brush and stumps. I think I got rid of about 500 cubc yards!!! I became an expert at packing those things!

I'm vigourosly working on getting the roof done. MY other "winter project" is nearing completion. I was lucky enough to have a buddy let me use his shop over the winter to get on the road.

Thanks much guys. I think we're finally looking down-hill for this winter season and need to get through the next 6 weeks or so.

The 55 Chevy is my version of a "Old/New School" streeter. I left it mostly alone on the outside but had my way under and inside it. 565" BBC, Twin 76GTS turbos, hidden water to air intercoolers, water/meth injected, paddle shifted 4L80E OD Trans, custom fabb'd 9" rear w/ drag radials out back, coilovers, r&p steering, front/rear sways, 4 wheel disc etc. Cranked up it's a little tough to get 3700lbs to play well in the corners but, pointed straight on 9 psi of boost....you can't stop laughing. It's getting the distributor and coil yanked for a DIS system and then off to the chassis dyno for a 15psi tune. MArch should be a fun month!

Must have had a "Senior Moment" This post is over a month old. Any hoot, Why do you think man invented fire? Windy day, could have cleaned up the whole county and rid them of all rodents, snakes! LOL

The end justifies the means everything is working out. Best of luck . By next year this will be only a nightmare.

Oh yea, sweet car!

Awesome build! Love the Chevy! I hate snakes too. That's why I prefer to clear brush in the winter. While they are hibernating. I guess that is plenty of land for a miniature horse. Best of luck and I can't wait to see more pictures.
